Brethren, I very rarely stray from the Craft /Royal Arch but feel moved to mark the rare award of a 50 year bar awarded recently to V.E.Sir Knight James T. Erwin, well liked and well known past Registrar of Ahoghill Preceptory.
The meeting was well attended, with Representatives from Great Priory, Priory of East Ulster, West Ulster and South Ulster Present.
As most Brethren come to Preceptory Masonry after involvement with Craft and Royal Arch, it is rare indeed for a Preceptory member to achieve 50 years service in the High Knight Templars of Ireland Preceptories. Sir Knight Erwin has been a long serving, and active member of the Great Priory of Ireland, and I for one, am delighted to see him pass this milestone, whilst he is still hale and hearty. The turn out spoke volume’s as to the popularity of this award, and I’m sure we all hope that he can keep going towards his 60 year bar.
